Peacock

In this photograph I have captured a peacock roaming his habitat. This photograph was taken at an abandoned house that many peacocks live at. I like how the peacock is so bright that the peacock is standing out from the background. However, I do not like how there is a tree behind the peacock.

Since this photograph was taken outside the camera settings had to be set correctly. The aperture was set at F 5.6 and the exposure speed was set at 1/800. This allowed the perfect amount of light into the camera lens. The focus is very strong in this photograph because the peacock is completely in focus and the background is blurred.

The placement of the peacock could be greatly improved which would then improve this photograph. The tree behind the peacock is distracting; therefore, the angle I captured the peacock should be changed so the tree is not in the background. Also this photograph is very bright and I personally think I photoshopped this photograph too much. The peacock almost looks unrealistic because of how bright the peacocks feathers are.

Pool Equipment

In this photograph I have captured pool equipment such as, a pool stick, chalk, and two balls. I took this photograph because I was going for a commercial style set up. I like how I set up this photograph, with the placement of all the object; no negative space. However, I do not like how the cover of the pool table is all wrinkled, it causes a distraction from the main objects.

Since I took this photograph inside and I had light coming from above the objects, the camera settings had to be set correctly. I set the aperture at F 5 and the exposure speed was at 1/3. This allowed the right amount of light into the lens without whiting out the whole picture. The focus is very strong in this photograph because all the objects are in focus and the background is not, which lets the eye focus on the main objects.

This photograph was taken for my family's game room because the is my pool equipment and it was a present for my father. The wrinkled pool table cover should be smoothed out which would improve this photograph tremendously. Also if I tried to photoshop the light glow that is showing on both of the balls, because it is causing a distraction. This photograph is also a little boring and taking the photograph at another angle would improve it.

Brittney Sly

In this photograph I have captured my friend Brittney Sly. This photograph was one of the pictures I used for my senior project. I like this photograph because of the angle I took this picture at. However, I do not like how there is a lot of black in this photograph, the background should be a different color.

Since I took this photograph inside my house with the window letting in natural light from the sun I had to make sure the camera settings were set correctly. I set the aperture speed at F 4.8 and exposure speed at 1/30. This allowed the perfect amount of light into the lens and the sun is giving Brittney a natural glow. The focus is very strong in this photograph because Brittney is completely in focus.

This photograph can be greatly improved in many ways. Since Brittney has dark hair I should have placed a spot light onto the background to lighten the background up. Or I should have gotten her to take off her black jacket so her purple shirt would add color to the photograph. Also I could have place a head lamp above her head to lighten her hair up.

Oakland, CA

In this photograph I have captured the middle of a shopping center in Oakland, California. I like this photograph because it was my first panoramic picture that I took. However, I do not like how the sun is creating a hot spot in the top left corner. This photograph was also an assignment for my photography class.

Since it was a cloudy day and the sun was creating weird casts I had to make sure my camera settings were set correctly. The aperture speed was at F 22 and the exposure speed was at 1/200. This photograph was still too bright; thus, I had to photoshop the picture to be darker. There is also some unneeded objects in this photograph that distract the audiences eye.

I took this photograph because I liked how cute everything was in this shopping area. Plus I love palm trees and the boat harbor is a dead give away that this was taken in California. However, like I stated before there are some unneeded objects in this photograph and without them in the picture would really improve the photograph. Also it was early morning with I took this photograph and I think if people were in the picture it would give the shopping center more character.

Park

In this photograph I have captured a calm day at the park. This photograph was part of my final for my photography class. I like how the main tree in this photograph is not straight, it gives character to the tree. However, I do not like how part of another tree is showing in the top right corner of the photograph.

I took this photograph in the morning so I would not have to worry about the harsh sun. Thus, the aperture speed was at F 6.3 and the exposure speed was at 1/200. This allowed the perfect amount of light into the lens. The focus is very strong in this photograph because everything is in focus, which adds depth.

I took this photograph because of all the different trees. I really liked the angle of main tree and how it was not perfect what so ever. Also I like all the shadows in the grass created by the trees. However, if I could improve this photograph, again I would not have the tree showing in the top right corner and since the sun is just coming up it is creating the left side to be brighter.

Alex Parker

In this photograph I have captured my friend Alex Parker. I took this photograph because I wanted to capture his personality by his earrings. I really the angle of his face that I captured in this photograph. However, I do not like how you can barely see his left eye, it would look better if both were showing.

I took this photograph under a building outside; thus, i had to make sure my settings on my camera were set right. I set the aperture at F 5.6 and the exposure speed at 1/180. This allowed the perfect amount of sun into the lens. The focus is really strong in this photograph because he is completely in focus.

I also Photoshoped his earring to glow, because it was the main subject. Also I like how the sun is adding a glow to his cheek. decided to blog about this photograph because today a year ago he died in a horrible car accident. This photograph of him describes his personality and I will always have this of him since I will no longer be able to see him.

Pine Needles

In this photograph I have captured pine needles from a pine tree in my backyard. Also this photograph reminds me of the fall. I like how close up the pine needles are in the photograph and how the background is blurred. However, I do not like how the sun is creating a hot spot in the top right corner.

Since I took this photograph at a time when the sun is really harsh I had to make sure my settings were fixed. I set the aperture at F 5.6 and the exposure speed at 1/500. This allowed the perfect amount of light into the lens. The focus in this photograph is very strong because the center of the pine needles is in focus and the background is blurred, allowing the eye to focus on the main subject.

I took this photograph because I love capturing things up close with the background blurred and I had not taken a picture of pine needles. Thus, I went out in my backyard one day and took this photograph. If I could improve this photograph I would see if I could have some how captured the pine needles at a different angle. That way there would not be that harsh hot spot in the right corner.
